ERIKA “EAH” HERREN
EDUCATION & INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE
Erika “Eah” Herren has been playing the Celtic harp and the piano for 22 years.
She has been playing professionally for the past 12 years, both solo and with
various groups, at a wide range of events. Eah plays many different styles of
music, including jazz, folk, classical, eclectic world music, rock, hip-hop and
of course her own original music.
She has traveled extensively throughout Europe and Central America. She is
based in San Francisco but spends as much time as possible at her home in
the Sierra Nevada Foothills, where she also teaches, performs and records.
Eah is a dual citizen of Sweden and has spent many years studying music there.
Furthermore, she has studied music at Mills College, Sierra College
and San Francisco
City College. Besides the harp and piano, Eah is also a singer and has
been playing the
guitar for over 15 years. She began composing her own music at the age
of 11 and has
been busy creating and recording music ever since.
PERFORMANCE
Weddings
Eah has played the harp at more weddings then she can keep track of.
She has always received compliments from her wedding clients and their
guests. She is very professional with elegant attire.
Restaurant/Clubs
Eah has performed with various groups in venues throughout the West Coast
and into Canada. In San Francisco she has played at such places as
The Independant, Cafe du Nord, Amnesia, The Hemlock, Hotel Utah,
El Rincon, 12 Galaxies, Brunos, The Super Club, El Rio, Ireland’s 32, Ziryab,
We Be Sushi and more…
Parties, Events and More
Eah performs at art exhibits, dinner parties, wedding
anniversaries, children’s birthdays and tea parties, memorials,
funerals and by the bedsides of the sick and dying.
Children’s Tea Party and Birthday Party
Eah creates a lovely atmosphere for a child’s Tea Party or Birthday
Party. She can
perform back ground music during a celebration and also lead the
children in a group
music experience. She can bring along a small African harp, which
children love to
play on, as well as a guitar for group sing along and musical games.
Studio Musician
Besides being involved in many recording projects of her own with
various bands Eah also works as a studio musician, recording harp,
piano and vocals.

Osphiera

Eah is in the process of recording an album with her band Osphiera.
They combine Celtic harp, cello, drums, guitar, bass, keys and vocals
contributing to a dynamic and melodic sound. Osphiera’s music is in
the genre of Ambient Indie Folk Rock and has been described as
“delicately intense.” They consider themselves Global Citizens
harmonizing in English, Swedish and Spanish.
Osphiera is inspired by Elemental Beings sprouting from Nature’s eternal womb.
You can find them deep in the mossy, dreamlike forests of a Swedish
landscape or along a river rushing through the Sierra Nevada Foothills.
Blue Rabbit

Another band Eah is involved with is Blue Rabbit. They released their
CD “Separate”
in 2008. Blue Rabbit is a seven piece band consisting of harp, cello,
a trio of female
voices, guitar, keyboard and percussion. Blue Rabbit recently returned
from performing
at Canadian Music Festival in Toronto. They have won several “best band” and
“best song” contests in both the the US and UK.
Stella’s Harp Strings

This group, name after one of Eah’s favorite jazz songs “Stella By Starlight”
combines Eah’s original compositions along with jazz standards and Swedish
and Celtic folk. On this site you can hear some of Eah’s own compositions from
the her CDs ”Eah’s Harp” and “In A Meditative Mood.”

Erika “Eah” Herren and Gregory “Goyo” Talbot have been performing together at
weddings and dinner parties for the past five years. Goyo accompanies Eah on
standup bass and percussion. Then after the live performances Goyo keeps the
party going by rocking the turn tables. Goyo has over 16 years of DJ experience
under his belt.

various occasions,
including her Record Release Party for the album “Tiny Skin.”
The Gedamay Ensemble

Eah has composed music for the documentary film soundtrack, Abyssinian Journey,
released in 2005. She performed solo and together with The Gedamay Ensemble.
The film depicted life in Ethiopia and the music wove together
instruments from both
East and West.
Professor Pitt & The Organic Equation

Eah has composed and performed music on the harp for the hip-hop album
“The Organic Equation,” which was released in 2006. Professor Pitt wrote the
lyrics and provided the organic rhythms for this exciting project!
Afrandeah
Another inspiring project, Afrandeah, whose instrumentation includes harp,
percussion, didgeridoo and vocals have both recorded and performed.
Xolingo
Eah has also done recordings with the band XOLINGO, lead by the
singer/songwriter
Jeanie Garden, whose album is expected for release in 2010.
